Stumbled across an interesting rumor on the CelticsBlog message board. Probably no more than fiction but here we go:
"Odom is coming to Boston in a 3 team deal involving Min, Boston, and LA. LA gets Garnett, Minnesota gets Green, Ratcliff [sic], and some things that are being worked out, and we get Odom. Ainge apparently feels we have a 3-4 year window with Pierce and Allen, and is determined to build a title contender. Green's value to the team is considerably lower now that Ray is at the 2 spot."
It makes sense. What else Minnesota needs is a question that needs answering (parting with Gomes or Allen would be a none issue for me, Rondo is obviously another story). A move like this would at least show that Ainge has some semblance of a plan. The "3-4 year window" plan is a good one when you look at the current roster. My concern is that 1 1/2 years into the window Ainge will suddenly decide to go young again. Rumors are fun.
