Only one week until I invade Ben's personal space

Until then, enjoy another Back to the Future homage. It will help if you like U2.

Just Tim

A few things here:

1) I stumbled upon Ply's MySpace page. (I don't mean to blow up his proverbial spot, my intentions are good).

2) At the bottom of Ply's MySpace page you will find "Bryan's Schools." Click on the MVRHS link and look at the first listing. Fucking gold. One can only assume there are many more treasures to plunder in these listings.

Milk & Cup

Has anyone else asked themselves why Poland didn't get an Olympic ice hockey bid this year? Potato Peel must be rolling over in his grave.

On the upside, I'm excited to see the showdown between Cheeseball and Phibonache in today's quarterfinal. Those two guys can really score the puck.

And Sojo, maybe next time U.S.A. will remember that the key to victory is a little something we like to call the Bobby Baloney Express. Use it, boys -- it works.

Streak!

After a 65 – 53 victory last night at the Cambridge YMCA, your 2006 Angry Fish are now 2-0. That makes this not only our first ever season with a positive winning percentage, but also our first ever season in which we’ve secured two Ws without the benefit of a forfeit. Yes, gentlemen, I’d say it’s finally coming together. Anyway, once those fucks down at the league office get their shit together, I’ll post the link to league stats and standings. Then you can all join my fellow Fish and I as we revel in some long overdue (and likely fleeting) glory.

Ps: A special shout out to all you Fish alumnus/Scrodes bloggers out there. We’ll never forget you what you did for this program.

Tidbits

• The mystifyingly long wait ends. Quick Change out on DVD.

• For those of you who stopped paying attention/never did, Ben and I have passed the century mark in our back and forth Lebowski-ing. The end may be nigh but we'll volley 'til the bitter end.

Ply, when you do "Juicy" at hip-hop karaoke...

are you going to say "#igga" or not?

What are some possible replacements? I think you should get this sorted out ahead of the time so as not to have some embarrassment on stage.

Town Hall League

Does anyone have the stats from the seasons? How many seasons were there? We are close to the 10 year anniversary of the league (I think?). I'm proposing a Legends tourney over fourth of July weekend. Here's how I remember the teams: Pizza Pockets: Steve, Rafe, Ben Old Guys #1: Bruce, Louis, Bryan Old Guys #2: Sam, Travis, K-Natty. Is this right? Who's in?

Any chance you're coming, Sam?

Lebowski Tennis

(A continuation of the discussion from "This could be a fun exercise", our NBA post).

BAG: nor did I say Webber was in the top 60. I just wanted to discuss him. Ply likes to argue, this much is clear.

Ply: Louis, you can read this if you won't respond: Miller averaged 18.2 ppg for 18 seasons; for the same reason I'm not ready to punch C-Webb's ticket after 11 with 23 and 10, I am ready to punch Miller's ticket now... Ben, Ply loves to argue. It all derives from a simple equation: Bryan + coffee = Ply.

BAG: I understood what Louis meant.

Ply: This aggression will not stand, Ben.

BAG: The bums will always lose, Ply.

That's just, like, your opinion, man.

Need I say more?

What?

In Nick Cafardo's Globe piece about the Sox players who will be missing spring training for this sham of a world baseball championship, I uncovered the following mysterious tidbit:

"Francona will not have lefthander Lenny DiNardo because he's also playing for Team USA."

So I figure...

why not?

This could be a fun exercise

The NBA is going to do a 60 Greatest Players tribute at the All Star Game. As you might recall, ten years ago, when the NBA was 50 years old, they trotted out the best 50 players. So which 10 guys should join the club? Here are the original 50.

Video Fun for SOJO!!!

B. Sanders

Let me see you GRILLL, ya ya ya GRILL

By: G
As much as I wouldn’t like to leave you hanging with the Rafe story I must. Tonight my friends was a night to remember, a night that I will never forget. It started rather simply with me and a group of friends going to a party that was soon to be broken up by cops. After leaving, lacrosse friends and I attended a box social at one of lacrosse friends houses. After drinking and partying I sit down at the couch to see NHL HITZ a video game on with a young man begging me to play with the deficit being 3-0. I take the challenge and end up losing by three goals, but GUARANTEE that I will beat him handily if we play another game. The young man agrees to another match up, I select the Bruins (77), he selects the Red Wings (84), at this point I know it is over. After jumping to a 3-0 lead the young man claws his way to a 4-3 lead. Soon after scoring his fourth goal the young man starts talking shit, I respond by scoring nine straight goals. With the score 12-4 in the SECOND, young man begins to recap of how he destroyed me in the first game and insists that I tell now gathered crowd the same. I refuse to tell crowd that this faggot beat me in first game, so he responds by taking his controller and throwing it at my face. After the initial stun wore off I looked down and grabbed the other half of my front tooth and yelled to my lacrosse buddies that “that mother fucker just broke my tooth.” Two large lacrosse boys run out the door and start pounding on him (one of whom may have broken his hand on his face). I am only able to get one punch on the kids back before he runs away. The cops show up ten minutes later and say that a kid down the street is “Messed Up,” but refuses to press charges. All I can say is that if I see young man on campus I will certainly not be the only one with a broken tooth.

Written while completely wasted

BAG had to repost because our blog is having technical difficulties. This post was lost, but BAG salvaged it. G can repost again so that it is back under his authorship.

More Questions

1) Stop it Sojo, you're embaaarrissing me!??!!?!?!

2) G, did Rafe give you Chlamydia? Is that why you wont share your stories?

3) Rafe, did you know that your father is going to be visitng the childhood home of BAG to check it out and possibly schedule a time to work on finishing it? I hope you realize that if he achieves this task he will instantly become my favorite person on the planet, surpassing even David Ortiz.

4) Penny, how's the Vineyard Scoop working these days? Is it on? Is it ever not on? Are you 2-0 yet?

5) Ply, that time you came to Madison when I was visiting Natty there, why didn't you stay again? I'm not giving you shit, it's water under the bridge, I don't hate you for it anymore. But what was the actual reason, did you boys have to get back to Chicago for a scrabble contest or some shit? Or were Natty's friends just idiots? Or was it both?

6) LTS, how are the little ones enjoying MIT?

7) Smay, greens were home runs, reds were triples, oranges were doubles, yellows were singles and browns were outs, correct? Also, I'm begnining to think that perhaps you didn't really like the Woodstock Pizza. Is this true?

8) BAG, would you just shut the fuck up? Please?

Phil Connors?

Ah, it's Groundhog Day, and just like the movie, nothing has changed. We're once again preparing for a Patriots Super Bowl victory, bundling up against the harsh weather to root them on against the Lions. The lower layer of my ensemble, of course, is my Red Sox "DAMON 18" shirt, which I bought during the 2004 championship season - don't want to mess with Johnny's good luck as I brave the sub-zero temperatures out there. The Super Bowl can't come soon enough, either — I'm swamped at work and need some time to relax, and like last year, I'm going to spend all that excess cash I have laying around on the weekend for the big game. New jeans for everyone! That includes you, Ben — I'll FedEx 'em to Peterborough Street in time for the launch of Navegando Quatro. And G, thanks for the picture you sent me - I like the 'do, you look like a straight shooter with upper-management written all over you.

In closing, I'd like to say that I'd like to get some excitement in my boring, workaholic life. Let's have some fun this year, boys, at the most exciting place on Earth. Mardi Gras, anyone?

Manny ain't going nowhere

Note the final name on the list!

Drinks at the Ritz tonight, anyone?

Dreams can come true

I had a dream last night that out of my window, I saw Manny Ramirez standing on the street next to a silver sports car, probably a Lamborghini. My roommate, who is Dominican (-American, natch), and I walked one block to the intersection of 30th Street, on which I live and "Kent Avenue," which does not exist outside of my subconscious. At least not around here. We strolled up to find Manny using an oversized RC-remote control to do something unrelated to the sports car, which stayed in place despite its wheels spinning furiously. Manny was wearing his white Red Sox jersey tucked into jeans or khakis, I'm not sure which, and when I asked him if he lived around here, he pointed at the closest house to us and said, "Yep, in that one over there." There were about six people watching all this, which is about to be important for Freudian legal purposes.

Immediately after that, Manny decided that he needed to use a chainsaw to cut off the rear-left wheel side of the car, for one reason or another. The only problem is, when he finished cutting the wedge-shaped slice of the car, the wheel spun it over into a mailbox. Manny at first didn't respond, but I could tell he thought he should go after it just to be polite, and he slowly and reluctantly sauntered to the sidewalk like he was chasing a soft single into left. At that moment, though, the car, wheels still spinning, took off straight ahead and mauled a bicyclist about 100 yards up. I back away immediately, thinking the biker was dead and not wanting any part of this, and Manny and his crew slowly walked to the faraway intersection to investigate. I looked at Edgar (my roommate), and we looked back at the bicyclist, who slowly attempted to rise but fell again. Edgar and I took off.

It was only when we got back to our house a block away that I realized that Edgar's childhood home was located right next to Manny's house, even though in actuality Edgar grew up a couple miles away. I asked him if his dad lived next to Manny, and he responded, "Of course." End transmission.

I'm not sure where some of this comes from, but I think much of it concerns my Internet search yesterday for any proof that Manny is still actively being shopped. Plus, Edgar and Manny have been compared by many people for their hair, heritage, spaciness and hitting ability, so that might have something to do with it as well. Perhaps I'm just trying to hold on.
