Sox/Yanks for the workers

Sean McDonough is calling the game!

Steve Phillips is a doofus.

Jason Johnson versus WANG

Hopefully today spells the end of the Jason Johnson Era.

Jason Johnson works out of a jam in 1st! 1-0 Yanks.

Hinske is in the lineup. Our savior.

Youk flies out. Sox strand two. 1-0 Yanks.

This rivalry is desperately missing Mike Stanley.

And Zimmer.

Johnson has retired six in a row, Yanks down in order. 1-0 Yanks.

Even so, I long for the days of Pete Schourek and Kent Mercker.

How is there still $1.4 million left on Hinske's contract this year?

I don't care, he got a double in his first Sox AB!

Sox strand Hinske on second. 1-0 Yanks after two.

Johnson mowing 'em down. 1-0 Yanks.

He has made me forget about Mercker and Schourek.

Even so, I long for the days of Sabes and Martinez the Elder.

Loretta 2-for-2 with two doubles. 3 innings, 3 one-out doubles for Sox.

Like the 1st inning, Ortiz gets out and Mannys is walked.

It's left up to Youk again.

Youk walks. Bases loaded for Mr. Lowell.

1-0 Yanks after three.

Jason Johnson: Latter Day Mike Boddicker? Still 1-0 Yanks.

Hinske 2-for-2 with two doubles. Our savior.

Hinkse to third with one out after Lopez flyball.

Hinske scores on Gonzalez groundout to Jeter. 1-1 after four.

Damon hits a two-run dong. 3-1 Yanks.

Johnson has come undone. Jeter singles, Abreu singles. Runners on corners, 1 out.

Kyle Snyder trots in from the pen. Reminding me of 1999 Sox/Indians Game 5.

4-1 Yanks on Giambi single.

Steve Philllips: "I really believe that the team whose bullpen throws the least innings over the five game series will be the team that wins the series."

Watching the scroll on the bottom of the screen repeatedly inform me that Freddy Sanchez is hitting .438 in his last nine games is no fun. Do you realize we'd still have Freddy Sanchez AND Mike Gonzalez if Brandon Lyon had not failed his physical with the Pirates? Fucking Brandon Lyon.

Kyle Snyder: Great Sixth Starter or Greatest Sixth Starter? 4-1 Yanks.

Manny hits a solo shot to right. 4-2 Yanks.

Snyder gets Yanks.

Hinske 3-for-3 with 3 doubles. Second and third with no out after ground rule double.

Javy grounds out to pitcher. Runners hold.

Damon makes nifty catch on Gonzalez sinking liner. Lowell tags. 4-3.

Coco flys out. One run game after six innings.

Lowell makes his first error in 70 games.

8-3 Yanks.

Until further notice the game is over.

Sox: 0-15 with runners in scoring position.

Seanez loads the bases with nobody out in the 9th.

I long for the days of David McCarty in the bullpen.

Rudy Seanez is 2-1 with a 4.14 ERA. This is the strongest evidence I have yet seen to support the claim that statistics lie. If statistics were being completely honest with us they would say that Seanez is 2-12 with an 11.79 ERA.

12-4 final.
