SCRODESBALL WEEKLY

You don't need to look at the leaves on the trees or feel the cool, dry air delicately caress your cheek to know that the Scrodesball season is in full swing, because the no-holds-barred gridiron insanity is more than enough. Now that the dust has settled from the raucous brou-ha-ha that was week 2, let's take a hard-hitting look at what happened and why.

It was rivalry week in the SFL, and the barn-burner of the weekend featured Ben and Sojo -- former friends and Pizza Pocket teammates -- locking horns. Despite voting for his opponent to win in a league-wide poll, Ben's Secules, Inc. (1-1) downed Sojo's Access Panel (1-1) thanks to stellar performances from former Charger mates Drew Brees and LaDanian Tomlinson in the face of a stiff Baltimore defense. Both teams are now facing significant managerial challenges moving forward: Ben in the form of limited computer access thanks to a shredded power chord, and Sojo in that he doesn't give a goddamn about this league, the piece of shit.

Another battle of old chums featured Smitch's Patented Run (1-1) versus Bryan's Free Pie and Chips (1-1). As I predicted, the Run torched the P and C by putting an astonishing 159 points on the board, a league record. Drew "Drew-baby" Bledsoe rubbed salt in the wound by pitching in a crisp 21-point effort on Sunday night. Bryan cryptically responded to the drubbing by removing the glasses from his Yahoo! avatar.

Unlike, the other contests, the weekend's third game was not a match-up of rivals. Instead, it was the league's early front runner -- Bruce's Punk Rock Tittays (2-0) -- downing its proverbial "village idiot" -- G's Mi Scusi (0-2). Once again, Donavan McNabb carried the day for the Tittays; Plaxico Burress was the sole stand-out for Mi Scusi. However, it was a low-scoring affair that ended up being tighter than anticipated, and it's evident that, when you dig just the slightest bit beneath the surface, both teams smoke cock.

That's all from Scrodesball. Here are the predictions for this week:

Tittays over Secules, Inc.

Free P 'n' C over Access Panel

Lock of the Year is more like it.

Ben's Fantasy Tip of the Night: Look for M. Colston to have a huge game while Vick and the Falcon offense gain zero net yards.
